The you that you think is you, is not you. It is a dream you. In fact, the you that you think is you, is a dreamer inside a dreamer inside a dreamer inside a dreamer. You are the King of the Universe who has fallen asleep and is dreaming he is the Queen who has fallen asleep and is dreaming she is the prince who has fallen asleep and is dreaming he is a sleeping princess.

In some tarot decks wands are called clubs, batons, or rods. or Candles but no matter what you call them, wands represent the fiery nature of Spiritual (Plasmic Energy) expansion and expression and/or the fiery energy often called Ardor, "sex energy", "Vital Life Force" etc.; Spirit is the Fiery-Will that binds together everything, including the 4 Universal Elements.

broken image

The Princess of Wands is also a male person in some cards and is often called a Page or Knave. The Tarot Knaves, Pages are traditionally androgynous cards and Alister Crowley, Lady Freda Harris, replaced them with Princesses, simply because of the formula of the Hebrew god's name of Tetragrammaton (YHVH) is well met with Princesses who are Daughters of the King and Queen. Knaves or Pages just didn’t work in that Qabalistic formula which is well explained in Crowley's Book of Thoth.

broken image

Since this card represents a combination of Fire and Earth (fire of earth card) it is truly an androgynous expression of mastery of internal blocks, obstacles, and obstructions, as well as fearless, spontaneous expression. On the Crowley Princess of Wands card, she has the tiger by the tail implying fearlessness as the tiger is the traditional Chinese symbol for fear. In other words, she controls the survival mind that is the subconscious, rather than being controlled by it. Owning one's subconscious (animal survival mind) by making it more conscious through wise analysis and observation, instead of being owned by it, allows risk taking which is part of the Greater Journey of the Hero/Heroine-Soul.

The Western Hermetic Qabalistic Thoth Tarot states that the daughter of the King and Queen, is both magnetic and electric; a free and liberated spirit that resides in all of us as a divine inheritance; hence a sleeping divine personal fiery catalytic force in our personalities that originated in the Soul and lies in the core of our being. This fiery force is all about motion; "moving up" in new directions that are fearless and energizing like her Sun wand. Wearing the Aries crown, the Princess has placed her old obstructions and fears on the altar of spring and offers them as a spring sacrifice, a fuel to the fire of regeneration.

Exposed and looking defenseless, she boldly expresses her new motion creating her own beauty and by her essential vigor and force. She believes in the power statement of "Get over yourself and get on with you, impeccability is what we do"! She is a Solar Self that owns and runs her physical self with her inner-spiritual fire and makes her physical body her own power tool/ Solar Wand. Aries, the first house, is assigned to this card. Aries is Mars the Roman God of War, a martial power that is also both fertile and fecund; hence this card represents a new start as does the first season of Spring.

The Princess of Wands is the earthly part of fire and/or the fuel of fire. She represents the irresistible chemical attraction the combustible substances, the connotations of which go beyond physical matter into Spiritual potency and spontaneous action.

As stated before, the Princesses have no zodiac attributions, yet they represent four types of human being. They are more of an "elemental" personage, whose moral character---is often open and freewheeling. Lots of Passion but not a lot of "common sense" and are associated with immature female sexuality. In the Thoth Deck they are subdivided according to planetary predominance, thus the Princess of Wands is associated with the Eastern quadrant of the sky above the North Pole.

broken image

When we examine the image of this Thoth card, we see that she has plumes of fire radiating from her brow; these symbolize justice. Since chemical action can only happen when each element is free to combine with its partner, she is shown unclothed and represents immature and/or virgin sexuality. She is surging leaping flame, with the Sun Wand in her left hand and the "tiger by the tail" in her right, she shows both her solar power, sexuality, and fearlessness. She represents the Virgin Fire Priestess of the Lords of Fire (also the Roman Vestal Virgin keepers of the eternal flame) and is in attendance of the Aries- Ram- headed flaming -altar of spring. The Powerful Sun/Son Wand in her hand represents the Primal Male Solar Phallus (Plasmic energy), whose energetic expression she controls.

When the Princes of Wands Dances in your heart, Passion is your life motion.

broken image

Just looking at this card tells you that this Person is highly individual and showing passionate qualities of brilliance and daring. Being too hot for the controlling male, her best mate must be one who loves heart rending passion without possession and/or the Prince of Cups in his highest state. Her beauty is created by her own vigorous energy. Her passion is so great that one is dazzled by a chemical reaction that enforces the impression of beauty on the beholder.

broken image

Being a type of "spontaneous combustion", in anger or love she is violent, sudden, and implacable. She can often be irrational, when displaying her enthusiasm, fiery ambition, and aspiring nature. Such a Princess, never forgets an injury-----and the only patience she shows, is when lying in ambush to revenge a perceived wrong. She is often self-absorbed to the extent that she is entirely reckless in achieving gratification and is notably insatiable. When referring to Tantra, she would be the proper Radha for the Hindu God Krishna, as she could absorb and/or reintegrate any fire he could display. However, as is all contained Fire, her energy can be as destructive as it is constructive, so caution and encouragement compete in this one.

broken image

Krishna and Radha-The Eternal Dance Of the 0=2

For myself, Passion is the foundation of the Universe, and this type of person is a thrill to behold and to a Prince of Cups, the proper mate of the moment, as his swiftness, stormy and fire of Water nature and vigor is to be "invoked", and her insatiable Passion will invoke the very rocks into flame! But like all fires, one must know how to work with it to properly achieve the necessary transformations of their Great Work as Creatrix and Creator.

Medieval Salamander.

To go further into the Western Hermetic Magic applications here we know that she is the "Princess who invokes/rules Salamanders and/or and elemental fiery passion , and if our eyes are not blinded by the fear of Passion, we'll see that the Universe is a hotbed of Pure Passion to be; that creation is "Sex Magic"( Female-negative pole attracts Male-positive electrons), which is an insight that the Princess of Wands surely has. Invocation of the Salamander as a fire elemental is still practiced today.

As shown on the Mystic Palette Page of Wands, we see an image of a fiery salamander and/or dragon resting on her hand and a dragonish being hatched from an egg, implying her fertility. Around her left wrist is a golden triangle that represents the element of fire.

Invocation of Salamanders.

In medieval mystical and esoteric traditions, particularly those influenced by alchemical and Hermetic thought, salamanders were considered one of the four elemental spirits, each corresponding to one of the classical elements. Salamanders specifically represented fire.

Origins and Symbolism

The idea of salamanders as fiery elementals likely arose from the real-life salamander's behavior and habitat. Salamanders often emerged from logs or wood when exposed to heat or flames, as they dwell in damp environments. This phenomenon led to the mistaken belief that they were born of or lived in fire, giving them an association with the element.

Role in Esoteric Thought

In the Western Hermetic tradition, these creatures were classified among the elemental beings:

  1. Gnomes: Earth
  2. Undines: Water
  3. Sylphs: Air
  4. Salamanders: Fire

Salamanders symbolized the transformative, purifying, and consuming power of fire. They were seen as the fiery spirit within flames and were thought to embody the creative and destructive aspects of fire, reflecting its dual nature.

Paracelsus and the Salamanders

The concept of salamanders as fiery elementals was popularized by the 16th-century alchemist and mystic Paracelsus. In his work Liber de Nymphis, Sylphis, Pygmaeis et Salamandris et de caeteris spiritibus, Paracelsus elaborates on the elemental spirits, describing salamanders as the spirits of fire who inhabit flames and volcanic regions. He portrayed them as both literal and metaphorical representations of fiery energy and inspiration.

Symbolism in Mysticism and Magic

Salamanders are associated with:

  • Passion and creativity: Fire represents energy, enthusiasm, and the spark of life.
  • Transformation: Fire purifies and transforms substances in alchemy, symbolizing spiritual renewal and enlightenment.
  • Destruction and renewal: They remind practitioners of the cyclical nature of destruction and creation.

In medieval and Renaissance art, salamanders were often depicted surrounded by flames, emphasizing their fireproof and fiery nature.

Modern Interpretations

In contemporary esoteric practices, salamanders are sometimes invoked or meditated upon to connect with the fiery aspects of the self, such as willpower, courage, and passion. They also serve as symbols for the fire element in ritual magic, particularly in traditions influenced by Hermetic Qabalah.

Their enduring presence in mystical lore highlights the rich tapestry of symbolic associations humanity has woven around the natural world.

In Hermetic and Western esoteric traditions, invoking salamanders as elemental spirits requires care, respect, and an understanding of their fiery nature. Salamanders are associated with the element of fire, so any invocation should align with this energy, focusing on transformation, passion, courage, and purification.

Here’s a basic framework for a ritual invocation of salamanders:

Preparation

  1. Sacred Space: Cleanse and prepare your ritual space. Use tools like incense (sandalwood, frankincense, or cinnamon) and candles to create a fiery ambiance. Ensure you are grounded and centered.

  2. Tools:

    • A red or gold candle (representing fire).
    • A wand or a dagger (tools traditionally associated with the element of fire).
    • Fire-related symbols, such as a phoenix or a flame, on your altar.
    • Fire-safe dish and charcoal if you plan to burn herbs or offerings.
  3. Clothing: Wear red, orange, or gold to attune to the energy of fire.

The Ritual

1. Opening the Circle

  • Cast a sacred circle to protect your space.
  • Use the wand or dagger to "draw" a circle of fire around yourself.

2. Call to the Quarters

Face the South (the direction associated with fire) and say:

"I call upon the spirits of the South, guardians of flame, passion, and transformation. I invite the salamanders, the fiery elementals, to join this sacred space. Come forth, creatures of flame, and share your wisdom and power!"

Light the red or gold candle as you invoke the salamanders.

3. Invocation of Salamanders

Recite a poetic invocation, such as:

"O salamanders, spirits of fire,
Dwellers of flame, my heart's desire.
Guardians of passion, destruction, and birth,
I call you forth to grace this earth.
Flames that dance, purify, and inspire,
Grant me your courage, your burning fire!"

Visualize flames growing and dancing in the air around you, feeling their warmth and energy.

4. Offerings

Place offerings in the fire-safe dish and ignite them. Suitable offerings might include:

  • Dried herbs like rosemary, cinnamon, or bay leaves.
  • A few drops of essential oil (safely burned on charcoal).

As the offerings burn, focus on your intention—whether it’s courage, transformation, or inspiration.

Communication

  • Meditate or scry (gaze into the candle flame or fire) to receive messages or visions from the salamanders.
  • Speak your intentions or ask for their guidance.

Closing the Ritual

  1. Thank the salamanders: "Fiery salamanders, I thank you for your presence, your guidance, and your strength. May your flames continue to inspire and transform. Return now to your realms of fire in peace and harmony."

  2. Extinguish the candle (snuff it out rather than blowing, to show respect).

  3. Close the circle, thanking the guardians of the quarters.

Cautions

  • Be respectful and mindful of the power of fire. Keep safety in mind throughout the ritual.
  • Avoid commanding or disrespecting salamanders; they are powerful beings and should be approached with reverence.
  • Understand that working with fire elementals can awaken intense emotions or transformative experiences, so be prepared for their energy.

This invocation can be adapted to suit your personal practice, aligning it with your spiritual path and intentions.

If ill-defined The Princess of Wands persona would be the defects of such passion. She would be superficial and theatrical, shallow, and false while never expecting that she is anything of the sort. She then becomes a "spasm of mood" and she is cruel, unreliable, faithless, and domineering.

broken image

The Phoenix

To meditate or scry this card is to invoke the "inner fires" of the "Plasmic Big Bang" (no pun intended) that all form is forged from; be sure you are willing to become a Phoenix before you try. You must be strong in virtue (true to yourself) and need not a state of permanence for personal comfort; in other words, "Above all things know thyself" before entering the Core Fires of Spirit, and/or awakening the Kundalini/Sleeping Princess of Plasma at the base of your spine, for in this immature state, the violent motion of change is breathtaking and often fatal to the weak personality (fear based). But for those who succeed in the slow invocation of this fire and allow the flow to patiently mature----you'll love your fiery wings!

broken image

The Serpentine Fire of Kundalini.

The concept of Kundalini (Internal Altar of Spring) and its associated internal flame is deeply rooted in various spiritual traditions, particularly within Hinduism and certain branches of yoga. Kundalini is believed to be a dormant spiritual (plasmic) energy located at the base of the spine. When awakened, it rises through the central energy channel (the Sushumna) along the spine, activating the chakras and leading to spiritual enlightenment as it supercharges the brain.

broken image

The internal flame of Kundalini represents this potent energy as it ascends through the body. This metaphorical flame is often described as intense, transformative, and capable of burning away impurities, leading to spiritual awakening and higher consciousness.

However, the awakening of Kundalini can be a profound and sometimes challenging experience. Premature or uncontrolled awakening of Kundalini can lead to various physical, emotional, and psychological disturbances. Some precautions against premature awakening include:

  1. Preparation: Engage in practices that prepare the body and mind for the awakening of Kundalini. This may include yoga, meditation, breathwork (pranayama), and purification practices (shatkarmas).

  2. Guidance: Seek guidance from experienced teachers or spiritual mentors who have expertise in Kundalini awakening. They can provide personalized guidance and support throughout the process.

  3. Stability: Cultivate emotional and psychological stability before actively attempting to awaken Kundalini. Address any unresolved issues or traumas that may hinder the smooth flow of energy.

  4. Balanced lifestyle: Maintain a balanced lifestyle that supports overall well-being. This includes healthy diet, regular exercise, adequate rest, and avoiding substance abuse.

  5. Gradual approach: Approach Kundalini awakening gradually and respectfully. Rushing or forcing the process can lead to imbalances and difficulties. Allow the energy to unfold naturally at its own pace.

  6. Grounding practices: Incorporate grounding practices into your routine to help anchor the energy and prevent it from becoming overwhelming. This may include spending time in nature, practicing mindfulness, or engaging in activities that promote connection with the physical body.

  7. Awareness: Cultivate self-awareness and mindfulness to recognize any signs of Kundalini awakening or imbalance. Pay attention to subtle shifts in energy and seek appropriate support if needed.

Overall, while the awakening of Kundalini can be a profound and transformative journey, it's essential to approach it with caution, respect, and proper preparation to ensure a safe and harmonious experience.

Thoth- Ace of Wands

The Princess of Wands and the Ace of Wands

The Thoth Tarot- Ace of Wands, shown as a fiery club or in the case of the Princess of Wands, a solar wand. On the Ace there are Flames in shape of Yods, representing the essence or seed of the Alchemical Element-Fire/Energy. It is a solar-phallic outburst of flame from which lightning springs forth in multi-direction. If you were looking at the Sun, it would be comparable to multiple solar flares, as this is how the Sun acts as a phallus by ejecting its electromagnetic "seed" into the dark womb of space-time. It is the earliest stage of Primordial matter, unwilled and violent.

broken image

Yod

broken image

The letter Yod, meaning Hand, is the 10th Hebrew letter of the Hebrew Alphabet. Yod or Yud (spelling is phonetic), is a dot or point and it is the one letter incorporated into all the Hebrew letters. The Yod represents the Creator, the single point from which all of creation emerges, and the Unity within multiplicity and/or the Universal Collective Unconscious.

broken image

Yod-Hand of God

Yod is known as the foundation of all foundations, the hidden Divine plasmic spark which causes everything to be. It is important to remember that, although the small cards are sympathetic to their numbered Sephiroth, they are not identical nor are they Divine Persons. They are more like sub-elements and/or parts of "Blind Forces" whose ruling intelligences are of the Realm of Yetzirah, The Formulative World (Shemhamphorasch). Hence, they are aspects of you and me.

broken image

Each of us is our own Tree of Life. What is astounding to note, if not confusing, is that each Sephiroth has its own Tree of Life and hierarchy, as well. Obviously, this requires more investigation on the aspirant’s part. As a Western Hermetic Qabalistic-aspirant of 50 years plus- who teaches Western Hermetic Qabalistic Tarot, I am still investigation this phenomenon called the Multiverse of Self and/or I AM … and will be for a millennium to come.

For a quick recap: THE PRINCESS OF WANDS represents the Earthly part of Fire. She or he is the expression of the irresistible action of a combustible substance and as stated, rules from the Heavens from one quadrant around the North Pole (She=Magnetic Force). It is interesting to note, that the Female Magnetic Force gives Form to the Fiery-electric male force, which in its primeval stage, as the Ace of Wands, is unwilled, unformed and undirected. But like the Magnetic Field of Earth, giving form to the Solar rays, not unlike the Aurora in the night sky, she justifies the direction of this male/electric Force.

broken image

Seen in the Thoth Card with flames of justice leaping from her forehead and wearing nothing as a sign that she is perfectly free to combine with her partner; she bears a wand crowned with the Disk of the Sun and leaping into Yod shape surging flame.

broken image

The Lords of Fire reside in the realm of Yetzirah, towards which she is leaping, thus she can be compared to the Virgin Priestess of the Lords of Fire (Vestal Virgins). Further championing this fact, is the illustration of the flame topped Altar of Spring, in the left lower corner of this card. The "seed of fire", the Ace of Wands" is now given a personal Willful expression in the Princess of Wands, as she is brilliant and daring. She has bridled passion, shown by grasping the Tiger by the Tail, and giving it direction----where she goes--Passion goes.

broken image

Tetragramaton (YHVH).

The name Yod He' Vau He' (YHVH=Meaning 4 letters), often called the Secret Hebrew name for God, is attributed to the Court Cards, where Yod, is attributed to Knights, He'-to Queens, Vau- is attributed to Princes and the last He'-is attributed to Princesses, the Earthly Manifestation, as the ultimate issue of the original Energy in its Completion, i.e. crystallization/coagulation. However, they also represent the counter-balancing and re-absorption of the Energy. These Princess/Pages are also the Silence into which all things return. The reintegration of energy. The Princesses/Pages have no zodiacal attribution; thus, they are likened to "elemental" people (Salamanders) who are recognized by their lack of all sense of responsibility and whose moral qualities are very flexible, so they are subdivided according to planetary predominance.

broken image

Of such elemental persona Eliphas Levi wrote:" The love of the Magus for such creatures is insensate and may destroy him." Which it will, as lovers of the Scarlet Woman (Babalon/Kundalini) have found out. She will consume you, as fire does a wyrm, as Kundalini does to the false ego, only for you to rise again as a phoenix out of the ashes of a once indoctrinated persona (False ego); a form of Dragonish Phoenix is made manifest as a "Sun/Son"; Be a cautious young and old magician, she is spontaneous and unforgiving! But if there is any of the Eternal Fire not profaned in you, and your Will is unshakable in unrequited- Passion's extreme heat, she'll make you blaze as a Star!

broken image

For all you Priestess/ Magicians out there, whose "Kundalini" is in full flow, she burns within as a fiery altar of creation; a passion so hot that you become an altar of spring and all that you touch becomes "new growth" and/or regeneration. Paul Foster Case, a renown Western Hermetic Qabalist, called this regenerative kundalini force the "adorable fire". Crowley compared her to Astargatis.

broken image

Atargatis

In Mesopotamian mythology, *Atargatis was a fish-tailed goddess, who is also represented by the Princess of Wands. She was reputed to give birth to men by swallowing them (The Mouth of a Woman is called the "Maid/Virgin Vulva") and gave rebirth to Jonah in his earlier Babylonian form as the fish-God Oannes. The Philistines called Jonah, Dagon who was Atargatis's mate. Lots of fun researching this myth, which is a story of a truth for the People of Mesopotamia who believed her to be an Amphibian ET (Anunnaki Goddess who came from the sky) and "mother" of the homo sapiens species!

*Atargatis is an ancient deity from the Phoenician and Syrian pantheons, often associated with fertility, water, and protection. Her myth is rich and varied across different cultures and regions.

In one version of the myth, Atargatis is portrayed as a goddess of fertility and motherhood. She was believed to be the mother of all life, symbolizing the nurturing and life-giving aspects of the divine feminine. Her association with water, particularly rivers and springs, underscores her role as a source of life and sustenance.

Atargatis was also associated with the city of Ascalon in ancient Phoenicia (modern-day Israel), where she was revered as a protective deity. In some accounts, she is depicted as a mermaid-like figure, symbolizing her connection to water and the depths of the sea.

The myth of Atargatis often intertwines with that of Dagon (Dragon), another ancient Mesopotamian deity associated with fertility and agriculture. Dagon is sometimes portrayed as Atargatis's husband or consort, although their exact relationship varies in different mythological traditions.

broken image

Atargatis and Dagon (Dragon).

In some versions of the myth, Atargatis and Dagon are depicted as a divine couple whose union brings fertility and abundance to the land. Their partnership symbolizes the harmonious balance between the masculine (fire) and feminine (water) principles, essential for the prosperity of the natural world.

Despite their association with fertility and protection, the myths surrounding Atargatis and Dagon also contain elements of tragedy and loss. Like many ancient deities, they are often depicted as having human-like emotions and experiences, including love, jealousy, and sorrow.

Overall, the myth of Atargatis and her relationship with Dagon (Dragon) reflects the ancient peoples' reverence for the forces of nature and the divine powers that govern the cycles of life, death, and rebirth.

Overall, The Princess of Wands represents a mysteriously dark-energy power that is both irresistible and with great force. She may be misunderstood or misrepresented by the Patriarchy (Military Industrial Complex). Such is the identity created for of all great feminine forces in a world of misogynic male Patriarchies such as today's Military Industrial Complex. Just proving Male's fear of the Feminine control of life and her power over men.

The Mystic Palette Tarot-Page of Wands

The Mystic Palette Tarot-Page of Wands representing a traditional tarot Page of Wands but as a princess of fertility represented by the hatched dragon egg and her dragon headed wand. She is dressed in gold and red implying golden sun and fiery passions. Here the symbology is that which awakens the mysteries of Spiritual Self, while emerging one into the passionate, primal, and essential love of vigorous motion known as fertility and/or the fecund self. One begins to feel the inner stirrings of their fiery Celestial Nature and reaches out to experience more of that brilliant, warm high intensity intelligence as the will is sublimated to passionate ardor and can be directed by a Willful Love becoming benevolent energy apt to calm conflicts and shed light on our most reckless impulses. Here we are more childlike, cheerful and full of energy and act much like a catalytic force.

The Page of Wands announces, influences, or stimulates the arrival of something new, coming from the Macrocosm to the Microcosm (From above to below). However, there is a caveat as an excess of this enthusiasm influence can cause recklessness. The sense of satisfaction from this internal flaming passion and the spontaneity it conveys may satiate us to a point that we want nothing more and become an enthusiasm junkie. Our brain is soaked with fiery passions and one can easily become a spontaneous combustion who is so fearless they often go where "angels fear to tread" and behave as dragons.

broken image

Represented here is a free and liberated spirit reflected in the material world. One that resides in all of us as a divine inheritance; hence a sleeping divine personal fiery force in our personalities that originated in the Soul and lies in the core of our being. This fiery force is all about motion; "moving up" in new directions that are fearless and energizing like the sun wand. Instead of a phallic shaped staff head as shown on the Thoth card, the Dragon headed wand represents the male force that she has ultimate control over. The Traditional medieval art of the Rider-Waite-Smith card shows this wand as a phallic headed device, emphasizing the feminine control over the masculine phallus. A phallus has no purpose without a womb!

We are all Celestial Beings who operate a material being in our name as an avatar in the physical world of Self-reflected sensuality, and each of us possesses a deep love for being and its unparalleled intimacy. There is a youthful feminine quality to this fire within which is not dictated by gender, but rather by the joy of discovering their Spiritual/Celestial Identity through sensual intimacy. Therefore, this card represents: an energetic young person in the querent's life; the stirrings of creativity and initiative within the querent; also new products and ventures.

When the Princess/Page of wands card is thrown during a divination it states:

  • Enthusiasm
  • Courage.
  • Beauty.
  • Power.
  • Abundance.
  • That it is time to express one's sense of Freedom (from the Anglo-Saxon Free-doom--which means "I choose my own death".)
  • Adventure, passion to be and initiating something new.
  • If you are male, it points to the anima within you that doesn't want to be limited or obstructed by fear.
  • This is the symbol of the ultimate free spirit within us all that overcomes fear and accelerates creative purpose.
  • We are all "star seeds" and have a deep inner fiery nature that will not be subdued.
  • This person’s inner passion is best/ or being, channeled in life.
  • Joy and good sense.

If ill defined by the surrounding cards, it implies:

  • Reduced intuitional grasp and ability to be devoted.
  • Sexual problems.
  • Moodiness.
  • Arrogance.
  • Egocentricity.
  • Loss of self-assurance.
