Thoth-atu 16-the tower
The Thoth Tarot-ATU 16-The Tower & The Tarot of The Ages- Key 16-The Tower:
On the Qabalistic Tree of Life, the Tower is called the Path of Peth; Peth is the Hebrew letter for mouth and is seen on the bottom left. The zodiac sign for Mars is shown on the bottom right.
Because Mars is the god of War, many people may see this card as a doom and gloom armageddon card.Which really isn't the traditional meaning of this key. It is traditionally about overthrowing the institutionalize authority, created by man, in favor of the divine authority that created all living things.
Often severity visits us because we refuse to change, and that is entropy which will not be favored by the Soul. Therefore, salvation falls from the Heavens, the lightning and wipes out the obsolete little ego, of the survival thinker, in order to allow the personality further progress. The Love of Spirit, demands we stand in our power, and not kneel to our or other's weakness. That Power, (the ability to do work), requires adaptation, change, flexibility and often, complete self-reconstruction. Attitudes no longer adequate for the situation shall be swept away by the Spiritual motion within for the material world is transitory but the soul is immortal in its movement of I AM.
THE THOTH ATU-16-THE TOWER:
Basically states the message that the inner self, will change outer self, whether it likes it or not. The harder one resists change the more traumatic the required change will be.
In the Thoth Tarot, ATU 16 is subtitled "war" and in medieval times it was called the "house of god" or the "blasted tower". For it is under the influence of Mars and attributed to the Hebrew letter Peh {Meaning-Mouth}, referring to Mars. Here cosmic energy is represented in its most primeval form.
What is usually shown as key 16 the Tower, is the destruction of the existing material by fire, and/or the old Aeon of Osiris (The Patriarch) being destroyed for the establishment of the New Aeon of Horus, shown as the Great Eye of Horus in the Card. This great "I" is a new identity, that of the Divine Child of the Divine Creative (Christ or Buddha consciousness), coming to the mundane man-made identity of the past. As we all know, new software (identity) requires erasure of the old, before it can operate or upgrade the hardware or in the human body sense, the "wet ware", properly. Thus, we have the geometric crystalline shapes of man-made identity falling from the tower; Crystalline, because
there are no straight lines in nature , as the Divine Creative constructs all things from "spiral energy". Therefore, flexible and ever changing being requires constant transformation; something the righteous man can never be. After all the word righteous, is just a propaganda tool for bigotry.
The formula for the avoidance of the Tower Moment , is the complete appreciation of all things created, including yourself. The Self must equally rejoice in not only the smooth and fertile but also in the rugged and barren. Right and wrong are foolish thoughts of the mentally constipated. All things exist, because they are Created to do so. Thus, societies, that are based on Ruler definitions of what is Right and What is Wrong, are Patriarchies that are doomed to destruction. As history has shown, every Nation thinks it is the best, and every one of them falls. To destroy others in the name of right, will destroy you in the name of I AM. Those who think in "right and Wrong", "black and white", are just marionettes of the Patriarchal Puppet Master, who controls that person's identity. I AM controls identity, not "they am" nor he or she "am", it is I AM that creates me. I Am a Soul of the Divine Creative, and I Control my own reality as a "Me". The Homo Sapiens Sapiens fulfills the purpose of the I Am, as it is intimate with whatever is observed. Hence, I Am is now lucid in its dream of self.
This destruction is illustrated at the bottom of the Thoth card as being the destruction of the Old Ridged Military Industrial Aeon by lightning engines of War. When one worships military might as authority to rule over others and thereby resisting change, one is destroyed by that very god (Authority) they worship. Thus, the jaws of Dis (Roman god of destruction) belch forth the flames of destruction, and/or purification. Falling from the tower, the destroyed garrison of the military industrial empire, are those of man-made indoctrination.
The Ultimate reality of perfection is "No-thing-ness", for only the "Waves" (disturbances or imperfections) in the No-Thing become something. Hence, only out of imperfection can existence exist. For instance, life itself, is always trying to achieve a perfect balance, but the mental environment is unstable, and therefore, the One Mind must continually adjust its balance. Simply said, the thing observed, is changed by the one who observes it. Just as the Organic Material one uses to create an avatar on this plane, is changed by the Soul operating it. The perfect change of Organic Material, where it matches the microwaves of the Soul operating it and therefore, becomes "atoned", is called "The Philosopher's Stone" in western metaphysical alchemy.
In metaphysics, we now know that One Mind who is I Am, is not seeking perfection, for that is about as smart as a fish in the ocean looking for water. The One is Self-Aware and that self-awareness is an infinite motion for the Self is not limited to measurement. We are all to be as we imagine ourselves to be, that is imperfect, so that we keep moving forward, seeking balance, experimenting in Self Awareness for that is the "Joy of God", expressed as "I Will BE"! In other words, to make a long story short, the Divine Creative enjoys being you, and self-awareness, requires self-discovery and/or self-intimacy, which is what we spend our lives doing. Self-discovery/intimacy requires measurement, developed by senses, something the infinite cannot do unless it creates "Self within It-Self". Hence, we, the created identity of I AM Me, will always be imperfect as we see more to be as we progress through "living". Thank god for that, as that means I shall always progress; maybe stumbling along to keep my balance in material's constant movement, but always experiencing Self as it faces observed issues and solves them. The secret is to turn that stumbling into a dance of joyous passion, which some call, "enjoying the journey". I for one, know that a diamond, the perfect and absolute stasis (righteousness) of the carbon atom, cannot dance! Life must will to live , and will to die to become. Therefore, the dove on the Thoth Card, symbolizes the Soul's Will to live , and the lion headed serpent the will of matter to die/transform.
The fire of Yod (Hebrew for: hand) from which our worn-out self-belief is consumed and purified, resurrects us as a rising Phoenix of purity. The trouble with purity, is that once the substance is removed from the furnace that purified it, impurities from the environment soon cling to it and it must be returned to the furnace to cleanse it. So it is for self-identity when on lives in a manmade world of indoctrination and dogma. Only the pure fiery spirit can cleanse it of all that is unworthy of Divine Self-identity. Hence, Life and death are known to the Qabalists as phases of a single element (Divine-Self-Awareness) that is constantly Real- I-zing itself. In the end, we all must fall to the pollution of survival thinking, to be cleansed in the bright fiery Mind that is Spiritual Will, and then stand again, innocent and pure. For only in an unpolluted base-material, can new things be nurtured and grown.
tarot of the ages-key XVI-the tower
The Tarot of The Ages-Key XVI-The Tower, is more traditional in its illustration. Here, it depicts the loss of Eden. And uses the Hebrew letter ain, which means "eye" and the zodiac symbol for Capricorn. The letter Ain along with the zodiac sign of Capricorn, is the Devil Card of the Thoth Tarot. It is as if the Tarot of The Ages is one letter and sign behind the Thoth cards. The Identity is the subject for the tower card, so the letter for "I" (Eye) meaning "self-observation", has some similarities to this card as well as Capricorn, which is an earth card. However, this is about the institutions of the Patriarchy being destroyed, so that mankind can be freed from programed identity. I Am is our identity, and the Me is how we experiment with intimacy. Intimacy is new to us Souls of the Divine Creative. For intimacy requires senses, and/or measurement. We of the Infinite Source, have no measure. As Life, I experiment with Self-Concepts, and/or Self-observations by creating ideas of what I AM. Ideas, are dreams, and the Dreamer that is the One Mind is now the Lucid Dreamer who can interact in intimate detail with creation.
The people depicted falling on the Tarot of The Ages card, are dressed in party animal, or bed wear. Implying they revel in the sensuality of the body, which is supposedly a bad thing to do. Truth be told, I Am Spirit-Mind-Body, a Trinity of Self-Evolution that we all are. The Body is a Party of Sensuality. It is how I AM intimate with "measurement" and/or Creation. However, if I let the "Party of the Alive" /the human form to be controlled definition; controlled by rulers (the word-Ruler is defined as one who controls definition) who fear life , for those who fear death fear life, which means they fear "me" who is the expression of life. I will not be controlled by those who fear "me". I AM Life and Me is the alive and/or intimate expression of self. Spirit obviously wants all that is, as it produces all that is. I am the Alpha and Omega of myself as a "me". For the Psyche/Soul is immortal, and therefore, without measurement, and one needs measurement to "experience" idea as knowledge. My mouth belongs to the Soul, not to the Patriarchy of indoctrination and dogma. Hence, Mouth- The Hebrew letter Peh, should be on this card, as well as the symbol for Mars, for to Speak with Power, is Mar's speak. Those who speak the weakness of slaves, are the identities that fall from the destroyed Tower of Babel.
