The Starman Tarot- 4 of Pentacles
I have great influence and power.
The Starman Tarot- 4 of Pentacles, is a lavishly appointed card, that basically means the same thing as the Thoth 4 of Disks card. Here, power is shown as the ability to "take and give". The flexibility to accept and let go as time changes all things. Here, the masked man, dressed in gold, standing on a golden pentagram, with gold coins scattered on the ground, and seemingly accepting or sending a golden pentagram. The masks, one covering his face, and the other 3 suspended about his head, represent the many false identities that we build over time. We are not a "worded thought", for we are the Golden Psyche, called a Soul, a gathering of frequencies, who in cooperation, know they exist; an I AM that makes-up thought of "What I AM" and sends them through a homo sapiens sapiens avatars that communicates thought as words and sensation.
Souls are Suns of "god-I AM", Solar identities of the Great Central Photon Sun of the Galaxy, and as the Demi-Star we are micro-I AM's from the Macro-I AM, and we radiate frequencies of light/Photons as "images",i.e., imaginations, of "What I am" which become thoughts that are received in the microwave receiver, translator and transmitter that is the homo sapiens sapiens brain. Therefore, I Am a Soul/Psyche of Ultra-Light who "wears" a body and I dictate, not the body, the actions I wish to take as a Self. I Am the Power, which by description is the ability to perform work in the material plane as "alive". Hence, a body is also a false identity, for the real force behind all this pretense is the Photon's sparking throughout the body, from neuron to neuron, as thought, action and the true operator of the homo sapiens sapiens. I am that Solar Energy of the One, who is examining Self, by producing an idea of what I AM- a type of Ultra light, Masked in visible light, and operate in light reflected in the mirror of matter, as Spirit/invisible fire. I AM an invisible flow of Light that began in the "Big Bang" and reflects upon itself. I Am consciousness, which is made of prefabricated ideas of what I AM, Masks called "Me", which are an art of visibility, as they cover the unseenable I AM. Therefore, I am the inventor of art, artist, and the art of Self. "The world" is just a story I tell myself. "Me" is just another story I tell myself, as I pretend I am separate from "the world". "You" are another story I tell myself, so that I can be intimate with Self, for without "other", there is no joy, no happiness, no way to share ideas, and become intimate with them as "emotion". For to emote requires another to receive. Emotions is yet another mask as we scroll happily or unhappily through identity after identity, errantly hoping to be "something", more, even though we are already the most. One Energy, One Mind, and the I AM. We are all One identity, who has invented the art of being; a many colored, with many perspectives, art that we call creation and self.
The Starman 4 of Pentacles, has 4 pentacled heads, that are breaking apart, because they are the ephemeral identities that have not the endurance to last. Only identities that can find their error and fix that error, become the ones that last and last, as the story isn't ended by entropy yet. The Soul doesn't reabsorb identities that ain't broke. The personalities that break down, are those that believe that "he who has the most stuff" wins. That by gathering abundance of earthly and man made things, and hoarding this abundance, we are somehow happy and complete, is an error-not-corrected. The personality that finds the error in this, who is flexible and knows that sharing abundance is good for all for we all belong to each other, is one who is self-repairing. So as a "personality", that fixes it's error, the mask of "me' can be continually placed on another temporary avatar. This is known by some as reincarnation. This personality / Me has Power, as it has the ability to do and continue work in the name of I AM Life.
It is well known and practiced in some Native American Nations, that a gift to another is something that you cherish such as giving your best horse, best knife, or best shirt. For to give a penny when you have 2 pennies, is a great gift. But one who has millions and gives a thousand, has not given a gift, it is but the small ego saying "look how generous I am", a falsehood created by the pride of narcissism. Don't get me wrong, for there is something wonderful about abundance effortlessly coming our way. However, as time goes by, we become buried in accumulations. Life loses its edge when no movement/effort is involved. Strife is part of the master's journey, for it propels us on the journey to toughness, a toughness, not injured by loss, a character not daunted by the next mountain to climb. Those who hire someone else to climb the mountain and bring back pictures, have no knowledge of their power and live a life motivated by the fear of discomfort, making fear their master. Therefore, they need more and more, to fill the hole made in self-value that has been created by fear.
To be true to thyself, is to know thyself, as the I AM, all else is a mask.
Therefore, the 4 of Pentacles, suggests that there is a huge confidence and ability to leverage all that you want out of "being alive". But when it comes without effort, it becomes valueless and a burden that walls us in and our living becomes bland and loses touch with reality, as it lacks the spice and the excitement of discovery, that the I AM of Self is all about.

Here we have a fortress made by the grounding of Chesed (mercy) in Assiah, the Material world. Held by constant authority and vigilance, a type of Law and order holds the Four Alchemical Elements in balance. Air (mind), Water (emotions), Fire (Spirit) and Earth, are all centered on material security. Material security can often involve risks as "nothing ventured is nothing gained" and latter becomes a problem of stasis caused by accumulation, that will later be removed by the Greater Spiritual Self (A Tower Moment) to keep things moving. For now things look under control and sitting back and enjoying material security seems justified. Here we also have gift, legacy and inheritance.
Astrologically we have Sun in Capricorn which assures the light and warmth of success but nothing beyond the moment. Therefore, the 4 of Disks represents the Rational Mind in total control of creative energy for material wealth; boundaries against change are erected and the illusion of security is enjoyed. Now this feeling of benevolent strength, is indeed wonderful but we must also invest in the motion of wealth into prosperity---so being flexible with your wealth is recommended, and is subtly shown as the drawbridge is open. The 4 of Disks card reminds us that damming a river can secure water, but if we don't leave room for flow, we stifle the prosperity all around us for a false sense of security. This easily becomes Avarice, blockages of thought and action which naturally follow from excessive devotion to materialistic rewards. However, if the drawbridge of mind is open for "outside" traffic we can make something tangible and take concrete steps towards creating security in the physical world that actually enhances that security for others as well.
So when all is examined, this card represents a positive with a caution; a kind of “good for you", that can only keep being good if you expand it to "good for others" as well. Remember that locked doors, secure stone walls, may keep out others, but they also lock us in. Hence, the draw bridge is down and the gate open on this illustration of the 4-of Disks, allowing flowing change in order to really stay Secure in our power.
On the Qabalistic Tree of Life, Chesed- the 4th Sephiroth called Mercy, represents the architect aspect of the One Mind, whose intelligence externalizes the combined potencies of the upper Trinity. Chesed is the administrator of manifestation and the laws there of.
The 4 of Disks (Pentacles in traditional decks) is the most complete expression of the grounded Chesed forces. This card shows the influence of Chesed in the material world, or the World of Assiah as our material world is called in the Qabalah.
The 4 of Disks -Power, is also called the Lord of Earthly Power. The Angels of the Decan are Keveqiah and Mendial. The planet is the Sun and here it is in Capricorn.
The illustration of the 4 of Disks suggests a fortress implying law and order maintained by undaunted vigilance.
The Disks themselves, are square implying that revolving or motion, is opposite to this card, However, another form of Chesed is in the Key 13 card of the Major Arcana, and it is the Death of stability, so that revolution can continue, 1+3=4, so the number of Chesed lays hidden in Gematria (numerology). Chesed, the Engineer of manifestation, has the power to reorganize creation through a process we call Death.
The 4 square disks each contain one of the symbols for the four elements and the walls are strong and seemingly immobile. Yet we have the Sun reborn in Capricorn so new powerful activity is present, and is best shown as the Dancing Skeleton of key 13. What hints at underlying power in the 4 of disks Tarot Card is the orange-yellow color of the card,
Like the eye of a hurricane, The Four of Disks is the "Dead Center" of the Engineer of all manifestation. Here at the center, everything looks quite and stable, but violent activity is making it so and soon, that stability will "fly to the winds". Capricorn is the center "where the Sun turns Northward." So the turning is happening in what looks to be stable.
When the 4 of Disks/Pentacles is thrown during a reading:
- The querent is owning their own personal energy, physical potency and vitality. The very act of which creates change.
- There may be a feeling of holding on tightly to what one has, emotionally or physically.
- The enfoldment of Power, Here the Ability to Do Work (Power) is unfettered and the inner architect is active.
- The querent is taking solid steps towards creating material security in the physical world.
- Here, "nothing ventured nothing gain" is the axiom of the 4.
- Huge confidence and the ability to leverage a noble cause.
- Time to reinvent yourself.
- Let go of false identities created by words.
- Being grateful for all you have.
- Forgetting that identities are for entertainment purposes only.
