Thoth- 8 of Wands-Swiftness
#8. I look forward with confidence to the perfect realization of the eternal splendor of limitless light.
The Declarative Tarot-Layers of Passion-No.8- Vitality.
When everything is out-front, and all creative ideas are equally respected and celebrated, pure creative combustion occurs.
The 8th Sephiroth, -Hod (splendor) represents the 8 of Wands and the planet Mercury (known as the Sphere of Mercury), in the Sign/House of Archer Sagittarius, where the element of Fire is stable and eminently comfortable. The planet Mercury keeps Hod's low unbalance position on the Tree of Life stable. Therefore, Hod's instability doesn't even put a blemish on this fast and intense activity. This over-stimulation of energy coupling of the "Above and Below", shown as electric arrows, going in multiple directions, both in the above Pyramid and the below "Reflection", portends too much, too fast. Therefore, this illustration expounds on the meaning of swiftness and rapidity; a lot of energy, going nowhere and everywhere all at once. It also helps one realize that the Macrocosmic Energy (Above) is "reflected" as the Microcosm Electromagnetic Energy (Below).
The Declarative Tarot-Layers of Passion-No. 8-Vitality
The Declarative Tarot- Layers of Passion (Wands)-No.8-Vitality represents great activity and passionate expression. Vitality creates regeneration, continued flow, power to push through, or feeling the vitality of the energy that you are putting springs into every step in your life. Here you are engaging and exploring with passion.
The many images on this card reveal the message that many channels produce this flowing connection of passion and movement. When the sun shines, we feel the vitality that beckons a seedling to use all its energy to break ground and claim itself in the world. Science has found that the dividing cell emits a vitality stimulated sound near High-C as it separates.
A cycle in full flow, the Zen Enso circle is a never-ending vitality of the Macrocosmic Universe that connects everything in the Microcosm together. The Enso is a simple, single-stroke circle, often created with a brush and ink in a spontaneous manner. It's typically drawn in one fluid motion, without lifting the brush from the paper, resulting in an incomplete circle with an opening. Here are some key interpretations of the Zen Enso circle:
Unity and Wholeness: The Enso represents the idea of completeness and unity. It symbolizes the oneness of all things, emphasizing that everything is interconnected and interdependent.
Imperfection and Impermanence: The slight opening or imperfection in the circle is intentional and signifies that nothing in life is perfect or permanent. It acknowledges the impermanence of all things and that there is always room for growth and change.
Simplicity: The Enso embodies the Zen principle of simplicity and minimalism. It encourages practitioners to embrace simplicity in both their thoughts and actions.
Presence and Mindfulness: Drawing the Enso requires complete presence and mindfulness. It's often used as a form of meditation, emphasizing the importance of being fully aware in the present moment.
Freedom and Creativity: While the Enso has a basic form, there is room for creativity within its simplicity. Artists may add personal touches or variations to express their individuality while adhering to the basic structure.
In summary, the Zen Enso circle is a powerful symbol in Zen Buddhism that represents unity, imperfection, simplicity, mindfulness, and creativity. It serves as a reminder of the core principles of Zen philosophy and practice, encouraging individuals to embrace these principles in their lives.
The four dancing beings imply that to dance through life as we are Life itself, that now can express the joy of being. We are Life that operates a homo sapiens sapiens body, not a body seeking life! We make life intimate with all that it is! We are a special trinity of Spirit-Mind-Body, this gives us amazing ability to play, create, and focus passion to be all powered by the Celestial Soul that we represent on earth.
For the aspirant, truth seeking requires us to walk an initiatory path and listen to our revelatory dreams. This wisdom will flow through our subconscious like a muse, inspiring us directly from the Sphere of Creation. and/the Formative World. This depiction of wands/Vitality also reminds us it is time to get off our butt and go-go! It's time for action, you've got things to do, places to go, things to create, and people to see! Here you must focus your passionate will to achieve a goal.
The term "Homo sapiens sapiens" is a taxonomic classification used in the field of anthropology and biology to categorize modern humans. It's a subspecies designation within the broader species "Homo sapiens."
The classification "Homo sapiens sapiens" is a way of expressing the human form for several reasons:
Taxonomy: In biological classification, species are often further divided into subspecies to account for regional or distinct variations within a species. "Homo sapiens sapiens" is used to distinguish modern humans from earlier hominin species and to indicate the subspecies of humans that exist today.
Scientific Precision: The use of this classification helps scientists and anthropologists precisely define and study the anatomical and genetic characteristics that distinguish modern humans from other hominin species and even from archaic humans like Neanderthals.
Historical Context: The term "Homo sapiens sapiens" underscores the idea that modern humans are the latest and most advanced stage of the Homo sapiens species. This highlights the evolutionary journey that has led to the development of our species as we know it today. (Totally discounting the possibility that we have degenerated so much over time because of theocracy, and its dogma enforced "dark age" that we are just "catching up" to our advance civilizations of the distant past.)
Cultural and Intellectual Identity: Beyond its scientific utility, the term is sometimes used in a cultural and intellectual context to emphasize the cognitive and behavioral capabilities that set modern humans apart, such as our advanced language, complex social structures, and cultural achievements.
In summary, "Homo sapiens sapiens" is a taxonomic classification that serves to precisely define and distinguish modern humans within the broader framework of the Homo sapiens species. It reflects our current understanding of human evolution and the unique characteristics that define our species. The Axolotl, scientifically known as Ambystoma mexicanum, is a unique and fascinating aquatic salamander species native to the ancient lake complex of Xochimilco, near Mexico City. It's an intriguing creature with several distinctive characteristics:
Aquatic Permanence: One of the most remarkable features of the Axolotl is its retention of juvenile aquatic characteristics throughout its life. Unlike most salamanders, which undergo metamorphosis from aquatic larvae to terrestrial adults, Axolotls remain in their aquatic larval form, retaining gills and fins. This phenomenon is called neoteny.
Regenerative Abilities: Axolotls are renowned for their exceptional regenerative abilities. They can regenerate not only limbs but also various body parts, including the spinal cord, heart, and even parts of their brain. This regenerative capacity has made them a subject of scientific research and interest in regenerative medicine.
Feeding and Behavior: Axolotls are carnivorous and primarily feed on aquatic invertebrates. They have an interesting feeding behavior, using suction to draw prey into their mouths. They are sedentary creatures, often found hiding in submerged vegetation or burrowing in the substrate.
Conservation Status: Axolotls are considered critically endangered in the wild due to habitat loss and pollution in their native habitat. They are also threatened by the introduction of non-native fish species that prey on them. Conservation efforts are ongoing to preserve and protect this species.
Scientific Research: Due to their regenerative capabilities, Axolotls have been studied extensively in scientific research, particularly in fields related to tissue regeneration and developmental biology. They provide valuable insights into the mechanisms of tissue regrowth and repair.
Cultural Significance: Axolotls have cultural significance in Mexico and have appeared in indigenous art and folklore. They are also of interest to hobbyists and enthusiasts who keep them as pets in home aquariums.
In summary, the Axolotl is a unique and remarkable aquatic salamander known for its neotenic characteristics, regenerative abilities, and scientific significance.
The other salamander is a stylized rendition of the fiery salamander of medieval belief.
The belief in Fire Salamanders is an interesting topic that has historical and mythological significance connecting it to the Fey or Fairie kingdom. It's a subject worth exploring for a broader understanding of folklore and cultural beliefs.
The belief in Fire Salamanders is rooted in European folklore, particularly during the Middle Ages and Renaissance period. Here are some key aspects of this old belief:
Appearance: Fire Salamanders are described as small, black amphibians with bright yellow or orange spots on their bodies. These spots were often associated with flames, which contributed to the idea of them being "fire" salamanders.
Habitat: According to the belief, Fire Salamanders were believed to live in and emerge from logs that had been recently cut and were still smoldering or burning. This led to the association of these creatures with fire.
Fire Resistance: One of the most enduring myths surrounding Fire Salamanders is their believed ability to withstand intense heat and flames. It was believed that they could walk through fire without being harmed, further reinforcing their connection to fire.
Toxicity: In reality, some species of salamanders, including the Fire Salamander (Salamandra salamandra), do secrete toxins through their skin. This may have contributed to the belief that they were somehow linked to fire and possessed special powers.
Symbolism: Fire Salamanders were often used as symbols in alchemy and hermetic traditions. They were associated with transformation and purification, which were central themes in alchemical pursuits.
Literary References: Fire Salamanders also made appearances in various works of literature and folklore, including the writings of Paracelsus, a Renaissance alchemist, and in medieval bestiaries.
It's important to note that the beliefs surrounding Fire Salamanders were based on folklore and superstition and were not grounded in scientific reality. These creatures do not have any special connection to fire or the ability to resist flames.
In modern times, the belief in Fire Salamanders has faded into history, and they are primarily seen as ordinary amphibians in the field of biology. However, the legacy of these mythical creatures continues to be a subject of interest for those exploring the intersection of folklore, science, and cultural history. One must also remember that when thousands of people imagine something, the universe creates it! Hence, fire salamanders have been seen on the Astral Planes of Liquid Light.
However, on this card of Vitality, the fiery salamander represents the vital and powerful multifrequency energy field that surrounds the human body. This celestial field of Solar Life Force is our Real Self, which powers the body in its name of "I AM". For we are Spirits of Photon evolutionary self that operate a human form...not a human seeking spirit. Hence, we are totally alien to the realms of coagulated light/matter and we must learn how to operate a human form for the purpose of sensual experience; and experience necessary to turn light carried data into Knowledge. This energy field holds our frequencies (colors)and vitality of our presence. Through practices of Tantra Yoga, Western Hermetic Qabalah, Spiritual Alchemy, Toa, Zen, Tarot, and many other mentally and spiritual practices, we can begin channeling the total power of our own Sun that radiates our presence. Every man and woman a Star!
Thoth- 8 of wands-swiftness
The fiery colors of the Thoth card, invoke the visual sense and concept of Fire as the element of this card, and we know that fire is the Vital Life Force, Spirit and/or "Sex energy" created by coupling and/or communication. Sexual/ vigorous/fertile energy is the Swift and vital energy that is used to create and achieve imaginings, goals and/or living beings. This sexual energy is shown in the Thoth Deck 8 of Wands, Swiftness, as phallic electric arrows. These arrows of microwaves are all coming from the center of the "as above, so below" diamond shape. That midway point of the diamond is the Soul, your identity, which is the bridge between the Greater and Lesser Universe, and it is sending information carrying energy in all directions to its Avatar, the body on earth, but the scattering of energy is because a focus of communication has not been reached yet. The brain must be tuned to the proper frequency (Solar radio station) to pick up these transmissions. However, if one is tuned to the "Group Station" of their cultural indoctrination and dogma, they will not receive or can't pick out these transmissions from their mental clutter, as they are not on the Individual Spiritual Channel of I AM. That is why many people meditate and scry, to tune the brain to its proper intuitive channel of the Divine Creative and thereby, the Soul's meditation on them is felt and understood.
However, these electric arrows from above the Pyramid shape of energy also sustain and constitute the Material World of the below pyramid shape (2 pyramids, one primary, one reflected, joined at the base), representing the subtle energy of the Fiery Father, bringing down from the 2nd Sephiroth- Chokmah (wisdom) the message of the Original Will of "I Will Be". As stated, The Diamond shape is also a symbol of the Western Metaphysical axiom of "As above, so below".
The 8 of Wands illustrates the geometrical pattern of the restored Universe that is constantly restored by this Electric Fire/electromagnetic spectrum. The rainbow above the double pyramid within the Universal Cube of the 8 of Wands, depicts the division of pure light into seven color rays of the light spectrum that exhibit interplay and correlation of the electromagnetic spectrum. We are visualizing the energy of high velocity and light speed. Here light is shown as electric energy, because of the principles of Hod, (making concrete that which is subjective), has created intelligible geometrical form. Crowley states that: "This card, therefore, represents energy of high velocity, such as furnishes the master-key (e=mc²) to modern mathematics and physics."[Book of Thoth, p. 193]
The One Trinity Goddess), has often been portrayed as the One Energy that cannot be created, nor destroyed, only transformed and I might say, Transmitted. That One Energy is the carrier of information., just as light is carrying this blog to your screen. Hence, One Energy=One Mind. That One Mind casts a self- reflection as our Psyche/Soul. The Universe is a Great Fractal of I AM. The Soul is the "Sun/Son (non-gender) of Goddess/God, and therefore, the reflection of "Will to Form" (3rd Sephiroth-Binah), impregnated by "Will to Force", the 2nd Sephiroth-Chokmah.
To get an idea of this "energy going in all directions": Picture this, we have two overly excited people, hook on diet pills and drinking pot after pot of coffee, simultaneously expounding to each other, on the day's events, sharing much disjointed information, until they both pass out from exhaustion. Upon awakening in the morning, neither one remembers much, if anything at all, about the information of the night's "mad hatter" coffee klatch. Such is the energy depicted in the 8 of Wands Swiftness. A lot of fast-moving energy going everywhere at once, and extraordinarily little being accumulated in one place. This is the difference between a light bulb and a laser. The former is scattering electromagnetic energy everywhere, making a weak light; the latter is totally focused on one point, giving it tremendous penetrating power. Therefore, the 8 of Wands often implies the need to intellectually focus so that you can get things done.
However, this could also represent one who is charging forward and expanding their horizons, in a rapid manner. Often such swift movement causes one to not observe much around them as they are often "target fixated", which has its own issues.
When the 8 of Wands, is thrown during a reading, it implies:
- Flexibility.
- Expansion, Intellectual power.
- Haste, swift acceleration meaning that the querent's ideas will very soon be in Physical existence and/or easily expressed in words.
- This indicates a high energy period in which to initiate change, as in, a fast movement for spiritual growth.
- Time to put on Mercury's winged sandals and move rapidly along the lightning Path towards Greater Self Awareness.
- A rapid descent of power to examine self-identity, and thus expand its perspectives.
- An expedient creating of possibilities.
- Definite progress towards a worthy goal.
If ill defined by the surrounding cards, it implies:
- Vehemence.
- Hastiness.
- Superficiality.
- Scattered energy.
